Foundations through Experience

Out of the classroom & into the field

Cultivating the interests and talents of a young mind involves active mentorship.  By sharing access to resources and opportunities, our staff, parents, trustees, and other community members help guide our students by sharing unique experiences to explore their many interests.  Giving someone a fish is one thing, but teaching them how to fish will carry them through their lives.  The importance of experiential learning does not stop after one generation, rather, it is a pay-it-forward cycle which continually benefits both the mentor and the mentee for years to come.

Exploring interests, refining skills

Being active and involved are key components to gaining deeper understanding of the world around us. Whether participating in activities of interest or those we aren’t yet familiar with, to be open is an integral part of the growth process.  The activities, programs, and experiences New Foundations offers our students are as diverse as they are.  By exploring together, we grow together.

Selfless mentorship

Those who work with our kids - teachers, coaches, parents, trustees, and other members of the community - are committed to nurturing their interests and passions.  By offering access to unique experiences, internships, and opportunities, our mentors open the door to a world beyond the classroom.  Presence and participation are two characteristics which set learning and experience at New Foundations apart.

Paying it forward

Our alumni frequent back to campus to visit with current students.  They share their stories and offer opportunities for the students who sit where they once sat. They answer the questions they once had. They open a world of possibilities that they, too, once thought weren’t accessible.  Being a lifelong learner empowers you to give-back to the community that has given so much to you.
