Our freshmen spend the year digging into their core courses to establish strong roots in their skills and knowledge. Students will spend a full year studying English and algebra on the block schedule to make sure they can comprehend and analyze texts, in addition to learning to write at the high school level. Algebra skills are the focus for the majority of our Freshmen so that they master the mathematical skills necessary to be successful in higher level math. For students who are not quite ready for Algebra, we invest this year in teaching pre-algebra skills necessary for success in algebra. In addition, they will begin their journey in a foreign language, engage in Physical Education, examine the global view of World History and study Environmental Science or Biology. Students who need it are afforded additional support from our Reading and Math Academy.

We encourage our Freshmen to get involved in at least one of our many activities and/or try out for a sport. Freshman also have the opportunity to be paired with an upperclassmen as a mentor. Welcome Class of 2027!
