While much of the 2020-21 school year has been remote, beginning March 1, 2021, New Foundations Charter School will transition to hybrid learning mode. Regardless of the learning mode, New Foundations prioritizes the safety and health of our entire school community. We are dedicated to educating every student, and supporting our families. On this page you will find helpful resources to support you through this transition. Below is a compilation of video tutorials, procedures, updated calendars and schedules and contact information to ensure your hybrid learning is a success each day.

Information & Resources

RUVNA Daily Student Screening Demo Video

  • The survey is sent to the parent/guardian email address on file with PowerSchool.
  • The survey must be filled out before your student gets to the building.
  • The survey should only be filled out on your student’s in-person learning days.
  • Please have your barcode ready to show staff when you arrive at school. If you do not bring your student to school (they walk or take the bus) we will look up their barcode in the RUVNA system.
  • If you get a message that your student should not report to school today they may still attend class virtually. Please email Nurse Erica at eortiz@newfoundations.org right away to discuss what needs to be done for your student to return to school.

Meal Pickup During Remote Learning
Pre-packaged breakfast and lunch will be offered for takeaway on Tuesdays and Fridays from 12-4pm at the High School Gym beginning on Tuesday, September 8th. This service will be offered through Maschio's, the same company that provides our food service on campus during the school year.

Meal cost will be based on free or reduced lunch status. Families who do not qualify for free or reduced lunch can purchase meals at full price. A student ID card or ID number, which can be found next to the student’s name in PowerSchool, is required to pick up meals. Parents and/or students are able to pick up meals for a few days, or for the entire week for every New Foundations child in their household. Families are also able to pick up meals for other families, as long as they can provide those student(s)'s ID numbers. Please remember to wear a mask and maintain social distance when on campus.

For those families who will need to provide payment, payments will be accepted on-site or online at scholarconnect.com. For questions regarding student food balances, please contact Amy O'Neill for K-8 at aoneill@newfoundations.org and Geri Allmond for HS at gallmond@newfoundations.org.

Food Allergy Information
Here at New Foundations Charter School we strive for the safest environment for all students. In order to do that we must strictly adhere to being a PEANUT/NUT FREE SCHOOL. No student or staff member in grades K-12 should ever bring peanuts/nuts or peanut/nut containing items into either school building. Learn more about Maschio's dietary needs information.

Free & Reduced Priced Meals
New Foundations participates in the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program, administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Division of Food & Nutrition. Depending on your family income, students may be entitled to free or reduced priced school meals. We encourage all families to apply. To apply, please complete the PA Free & Reduced Lunch Application and return it to Mrs. Amy O'Neill at aoneill@newfoundations.org.
